I love these hay bags!! And the larger rope pulls are easier on my hands to tie closed. 🙂
Kary Tuers (verified owner) –
High quality and strong! Love the colors!

I hang the bags so this rope is great. The length is good and I like the slide that holds the ends together. I have other similar nets where the rope slides out when I’m filling them sometimes and that can’t happen with these
Darlene Blair (verified owner) –
Much easier to tie and untie. Changed out my cords.

I ordered two hay bags, standard and extra long, both with the upgraded rope pulls, which are definitely sturdy. A good idea if you don’t know how you’re going to be using the bags, or if you know for a fact that you’ll be hanging them up. If you know you won’t be hanging them, I’m sure the regular rope pulls will be fine. It’s the bags themselves, not the rope pulls, that take the abuse from horses. Getting tossed around, etc.

These thicker cords are perfect. I don’t know what the standard cords look like since they were replaced by the upgraded cord when I received the bags. But, I can’t imagine using a thinner cord than these upgrades.

The string that holds the bags closed do wear out, especially if you hang the nets on a fence and the strings are used to hang the nets. The heavier rope works better.

Easy to open and close

Easy peasy

I request a different color for each horse since they each have two different bags. It’s sometimes hard to tell the difference between the 3/4″ and 1″ so color-coding helps

When knotted the rope is hard to get knots out of.

Works great.

This is absolutely a must with these bags and well worth the extra few bucks. Sturdy and the thickness of the rope makes it easier for tying and most of all untying! Thank you!

Easy to work with

NIce, heavy duty rope, nets slide well on them.

With they were still thicker and toggles already broke.

We are working on finding stronger cordlocks – thank you for the feed back
Robert W. (verified owner) –
I got the yellow rope on one bag and it is quite easy to tie and untie. The multi-colored rope doesn’t seem to be holding up as well as the yellow.
Kelly (verified owner) –
I hang her nets so I love the heavier rope option and get it on all my nets now.
Jaye Robinson (verified owner) –
Worth the extra bucks for a heavier duty pull. Love the sliding clasp and the slick rope is easy to unknot for refilling.
Kerry (verified owner) –
Good upgrade feature. The spring clip to close the net works well
Debbie (verified owner) –
Strong, but could be larger
MARY KAHN (verified owner) –
Heavy enough to hold a full hanging hay bag. Will be ordering another bag with the rope pull.

These ropes are nice and thick but much shorter than the thinner ropes on all the other bags I have purchased from Hay Burners over the years. We hang/tie with the ropes. We ended up cutting these ropes off and using our own paracord as replacement so that we could hang them as we normally do. If I had to order again I would either eliminate the rope upgrade or ask for additional length to match my previous bags.
laurie (store manager) –
We are a bit confused, the string/rope lengths haven’t changed. They were always just long enough to open the bag completely without a lot of extra for folks to fuss with. For those who want longer ropes we have a “extra long” option along with the ability to order rope by the foot if preferred.
Mara T. (verified owner) –
Easy to use.
Gina Cox (verified owner) –
Nice substantial rope, and the hardware is so much larger and easier to use than the smaller ones.
Patricia L (verified owner) –
Quality rope pulls that will take lots of abuse . Highly recommend .
Susan H. (verified owner) –
The heavier rope is fantastic.
Caitlyn W. (verified owner) –
Perfect for hanging large bags
