We have a number of the slow-feed bags (3/4 to 1 inch). I clip them to trees in the paddock so the strings can wear out. Replacements are inexpensive and you get your order very quickly.

I love this way of cinching up hay bags. The horses are easily able to pull it open, but we hook the caribiner into each of the opposite sides of the hay net which prevents them from begin able to open the bag.
